What are the different types of Indonesian coffee? Where’s the best place for coffee in Bangkok? What happens when you mix coffee with alcohol? If you’re interested in the answers to these questions, follow our Coffee & Chat series where we’ll perk you up with interesting stories to blow away your January Blues.

We like to stick what’s familiar and safe, a routine if you will. Yet variety is the spice of life, here’s a round-up of some coffee potations to stir up your (and your barista’s) mornings!

MAGIC (DOUBLE RISTRETTO + MILK)

First concocted in Melbourne, Magic is a double ristretto with steamed milk poured over and served in a 160ml cup, giving an excellent coffee to milk ratio. We reckon its perfect for sleepy mornings when your eyes won’t stay open.

GIBRALTAR (DOUBLE ESPRESSO + MILK)

Said to be dreamt up by the famed Blue Bottle Coffee in California, the Gibraltar is a relatively recent addition to the espresso-based coffee familia. The Gibraltar is a double shot of espresso topped up with milk served in a 120ml cup.

WICKED (MINT MOCHA)

A strong caffeine-packed mocha with a delightful shot of mint, Wicked is a pleasant potation that offers a nice change for those times you’re looking for something different. Coffee, chocolate and mint is a beautiful combo indeed. Try the iced version, you won’t regret it.

GENERRA (ORANGE MOCHA)

The sister to the Wicked mocha, Generra offers a fruity alternative – a mocha laced with delightful orange flavoured syrup. While the bright citrusy flavour is a lovely touch, it doesn’t overpower the coffee or the chocolate. As ever, the iced version is recommended.
