Officially the first Peruvian-Japanese rooftop bar and restaurant in South East Asia, Above Eleven Bali serves the perfect blend of comfort and adventure with every bite. With a little taste of history through a unique Peruvian Japanese Cuisine called ‘Nikkei’, Above Eleven Bali serves authentic dishes that are both refreshing and delicious, from ceviches and causas to tiraditos and light bites.
Above Eleven promises to introduce the vast range of authentic Peruvian cuisine to all food lovers from all sides of the world. With Chef Renzo Vacchelli’s broad experience in Peru, including some of his years in Germany and England, Above Eleven Bali delivers that vision.
If you’re looking to experience fine Nikkei cuisine, Above Eleven is the right place to go, with dominant signature flavors of the sea from salmon, tuna, snapper, to prawn, squid, octopus and crab.
Guests visiting Above Eleven for the first time would do well to try some of Chef Renzo Vachelli’s signature dishes, like the Mango Ceviche, Tiradito Nikkei, and the Octopus Anticuchero.
A famous Peruvian tradition served fresh and zesty, the ceviche is a customary opener for any self-respecting Nikkei establishment. The Mango Ceviche is a well-adjusted member of its species, a delightful opener to prepare one’s palate for a sumptuous meal.
The Tiradito Nikkei is a Peruvian style Tuna Sashimi served with fresh Nikkei passion fruit leche de tigre. I have to admit, I have never tasted fish meat at its outmost freshness like this. The leche de tigre, or the tiger’s milk, is also interesting – and no, it is not literally tiger’s milk. It is actually the Peruvian term for the citrus-based marinade that cures the seafood in Ceviche. It contains lime juice, sliced onion, chili, salt and pepper, and of course a bit of fish juice. The exciting part was that leche de tigre is believed to be a hangover cure
Octopus Anticuchero, a grilled octopus dish served with crushed potatoes, onions, olive mayonnaise, chimicurri and anticucho sauce. To enjoy this dish, please never let it cool down. Enjoy it right away to indulge in the freshly warm ooeygooey texture of the octopus along with the rich taste of Peruvian sauce.
Unparalleled views over Jimbaran Bay complement innovative cocktails and creative cuisine, making this a great place to soak up the sunset with friends and family. Live DJs deliver enticing sets of music that fits this atmospheric spot to a tee.
Whether you’re in for the Peruvian Japanese inspired cocktails, something more tropical, the Above Eleven signatures, or just some good old classics, you certainly won’t be able to stop at just one. Especially since every drink at Above Eleven Bali is paired with a picturesque view of the glittering skyline.
