For our simple recipes, we like to keep them robust yet authentic. We limit ourselves to simply eight ingredients for you to hunt down, barring from everyday essentials such as oil, salt, pepper, sugar and water.

An easy to prepare dish for your next barbecue, you can’t go wrong with lemon-lime  grilled chicken. Hunt down six easy ingredients, let it marinate overnight for the flavours to seep in and develop and heat up the barbie and impress your mates. Dish it up with a side of chips and salad and you’re good to go.


Ingredients (Serves 6)

1kg chicken wings, drummetes or thighs

3 cloves garlic, crushed

¼ cup cider vinegar

½ cup sugar

3 tablespoons coarse grained/Dijon mustard

1 lime, juiced

½ lemon, juiced

6 tablespoons olive oil

Salt & black pepper (to taste)

The Method

1) For marinade, combine all ingredients (except chicken) in a large bowl, blend well

2) Once blended, toss chicken in marinade, cling wrap and marinade overnight in fridge

3) Take out chicken 1 hour before grilling

4) Grill chicken 4-5 minutes on each side till done

5) Serve with chips/mashed potatoes and salad
